What is Airsoft ?
The game of airsoft skirmishing, is to describe it easily; it's a bunch of airsoft enthusiast running around a site shooting each other and completing objectives and missions. Airsoft is similar to paintball yet not; it's cheaper more realistic and more fun. Airsoft guns are fully automatic. Yep, fully automatic capable of firing up to 20 rounds per second. Airsoft guns are different from paintball guns in their realism. They are made to reflect real designs such as Glocks, M16s AK47s even guns such as the M60 heavy machine gun or even the six-barrelled M134a Mini gun as seen in the Film Predator! Paintball guns shoot plastic balls that are filled with paint, which break and mark the opponent's body upon impact, airsoft on the other hand is based on honesty, when one feels a hit the person acknowledges the hit and walks off the current game and awaits the next. Missions might include rescuing a downed pilot or taking a fort or bridge. Airsoft games are fast, furious and most of all fun. What's more airsoft guns don't break the bank like paintball.
MOST AIRSOFT GUNS ARE USUALLY 1:1 SCALE REPLICAS! Airsoft guns fires a 6mm ball-bearing projectile at low velocity typically less than 1 joule (they won't cause physical harm). Generally the airsoft replicas mimic their real-steels characteristics e.g. sniper rifles have a long range and are accurate, while shotguns are good for close-range work but lack rate of fire.

AEGs are highly reliable capable of firing thousands of rounds as standard and also economical they run of rechargeable remote-control car style batteries capable of firing thousands of rounds without recharging.
Don't Airsoft Guns hurt? No, not really! Airsoft hurts far less than paintball. Paintballs have a very High Mass, as they are so large. Airsofting BBs travel just as fast, however they only weight on average 0.2grams, so they don't carry much power when they hit you. If you are wearing the correct safety equipment at most a close-range hit will leave a small welt which usually disappears after a few minutes and may sting for a few seconds. BBs rarely break the skin, and most medium range shots don't hurt at all. This is in great contrast to paintball aka painball where it is not uncommon for players to be knocked senseless or go home with melon-sized bruises on their limbs!
Airsofting is pretty cheap as a survival-war game and IS CHEAPER THAN PAINTBALL. Thousands of paintballs have converted to Airsoft as they have become disillusioned with the money-hungry paintball industry. This is because bbs are a lot cheaper than paintballs.100 paintballs might cost £10, but for that same amount you could get 3000 bbs.
